Helsinki City Tour in English
Start your tour from the harbor up to the Sibelius Monument in the northern part of Helsinki. After stop at the monument to the most famous Finnish composer we drive through Seurasaari park area pass mansions and villas from dating back to the 19th and early 20th centuries.
From the northern part of the city we head back to the city center, driving pass the National Opera, Finlandia Concert Hall and the National Museum. From the Parliament buildings we head westwards and pass the Hietalahti Square, driving through picturesque Tehtaankatu Street and making a stop at Mikael Agricola Church. From Tehtaankatu we head towards the Market Square, drive pass Uspenski Cathedral and make a long stop at the Senate Square, the heart of the city.
At the Senate Square we leave the bus and walk along Aleksanderinkatu, the main shopping street of the old city. We make stops at the Fazer confectionery shop, monument to Finland’s national poet Johan Ludwig Runeberg and the railway station. We finish our tour at Oodi, the new city library that had just been rated as the finest library in Europe. Shopping centers, Railway Station, National Theater, the National Art Gallery Ateneum are all withing 5 minutes’ walk.
