One of the most renowned museums in the world is located in the colossal 3-storey baroque Winter Palace designed by Rastrelli which served as the major imperial residence until the Revolution. Admire the masterpieces by Raphael, de Vinci, Titian and the biggest collection of Rembrandt outside the Netherlands.
You will have the guided visit in the massive St. Isaac’s Cathedral, reminiscent of St Peters’s in Rome. This magnificent building took 40 years to complete, and the great dome, covered with more than 200 pounds of pure gold, is one of the largest in the world and one of the main cathedrals of the Russian Orthodox Church at the time of the Russian Empire. The structure is supported by 112 monolithic columns, and the interior is elaborately decorated with more than 30 different kinds of marble, spectacular mosaics, painted ceiling murals and sculptures.
During this journey you will be able to leave the bus and take memorable photos at several stops that will include:
- Spit of Vasilievsky Island, a beautiful ensemble of the historic port and commercial center with the stunning view on Neva water area and legendary embankments of the city center.
- St. Nicholas Cathedral, one of the most distinct examples of Russian Baroque, built to commemorate heroes of marine fleet
- Spilled Blood Cathedral, the architectural quintessence of beautiful Russian soul and one of the famous churches in the world;
